Food for the Brain is a non-profit educational charity, created by a group of nutritionists, doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, teachers and scientists. It also provides a wellness directory wherein users are encouraged to discover, review and share information on: Buddhist Centers, Farmers Markets, Food Stores, Gyms, Martial Arts, Meditation Centers, Pilates, Practitioners, Restaurants, Retreats, Schools, Shops, Spas, Wellness Centers and Yoga Studios. Health Corps: Health Corps educates American youth about the workings and wonders of their bodies through in/after school seminars on diet, nutrition, exercise. HealthCorps empowers children to become educated consumers, to become community health advocates and to make shifts in behavior that can be measured by changes in rates of obesity and physical fitness as well as mental resilience and self esteem.
New York Coalition for Healthy School Foods: This organization offers a "wellness wakeup" program which are brief messages read over morning announcements at schools. The messages will build on one or more themes over the course of a month. The program is available in two versions: K – 5, and 6 – 12. Over the course of a year, topics will include good nutrition, prevention of diseases, healthy snack and meal ideas, information on the food industry, and more.
